When asked what he enjoys most about being a doctor, Dr. Gilreath replied, “As cliché as it may sound, being able to change lives. Being able to help someone regain a part of their life is an amazing privilege. Sometimes, we take for granted the fact that we can use a spoon without dropping it, or simply walk out of bed to the mailbox and not fall over. Helping people achieve even simple life tasks can be just as rewarding as administering TPA and telling someone who has had a stroke that they will walk again.”
Dr. Gilreath encourages his patients to talk with him. “I value dialogue when it comes to the treatment process. I understand that seeing the doctor can be a scary thing, but I want you to feel comfortable talking with me, and I want you to be just as much a part of the process as I am,” says Dr. Gilreath.
Dr. Gilreath is originally from the Cloudland area and is relocating from Jasper, AL where he practiced for five years. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA and completed his residency in Neurology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, FL.
